SHURGARD CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

SEATTLE, WA

Adjacent to Lake Union the former 5-story 1912 Ford Truck Assembly Plant was converted to a world headquarters for Shurgard Self-Storage. Over 120 senior staff participated in the project programming stages, creating a highly collaborative process. Shurgard’s brand icon is a lighthouse, which was used abstractly to unify the fourth and fifth floors. Great care was taken to restore the building exterior and Ford cartouches at the ground floor parking.
